A pantoum is a Malayan form of chant with a fixed structure of repetition. Lines may be of any length in any meter. A pantoum is written in four-line stanzas; lines two and four of each stanza become lines one and three of the next stanza. The final stanza consists of lines one and three of the first stanza in reverse order as repetitions, along with the two lines inherited from the next to the last stanza.
